Elio Catania is Chairman of Confindustria Digitale. He graduated in Electro-technical Engineering at the ‘La Sapienza’ University in Rome and gained his Master’s Degree of Management Science at the ‘Sloan Fellow School’ of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. He spent most of his management career in IBM where he was President of IBM Latin America, South Europe and Italy and became Member of the Worldwide Management Council. He has been Chairman and CEO of Ferrovie dello Stato, Chairman and CEO of the ATM Group and Deputy Chairman of Alitalia. He served as Board Member and Member of the Executive Committee of Telecom Italia and as Board Member of Intesa Sanpaolo and BNL. He is currently Member of General Council of Confindustria, Member of the Executive Committee of Italy and US Council, Member of Assonime Executive Committee, Member of the Board of Directors of Fondazione Asphi Onlus and Member of the BoD of Elica Group. He is Knight of Labour.
